2017 CAA Student Scholarship:
The CAA Student Scholarship is awarded to students who are registered in a California AuD program and are current members of CAA, both at the time of application and at the time of the conference. Scholarship applications are reviewed to and consider the student’s success in the AuD program, their career objectives and involvement in Audiology on a local, state, national and international level.
CAA is proud to present scholarship to these future audiologists.
Veronica Koo (University of the Pacific, year 3)
Veronica is currently completing her externship year at Stanford Ear Institute and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. In her free time, Veronica participates as the student liaison for Entheos Audiology Cooperative while helping to provide the gift of hearing. Her most recent mission trips were in Jordan and Ecuador. Veronica will be graduating in August 2018 and is avid to start working as a clinical audiologist.
Lauren Rynders (San Diego State/UC San Diego, year 4)
Lauren is currently completing her externship year at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR. “The start of the externship process has been challenging but delightful, and it has been fun to have so many things really click into gear over the past several months. As my externship is through the LEND program, I am also part of an interdisciplinary cohort learning about developmental disabilities in children. When not in clinic, I am enjoying exploring a beautiful new city with great food, parks, bike paths, forests, and hiking.”
Benjamin Thompson (University of the Pacific, year 3)
Ben is currently completing his audiology externship at University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center. His main interests in the field are adult hearing loss treatment, telehealth, and tinnitus management. He plans to stay in California to work as an audiologist and enjoy the beautiful coastline and mountains of our state.
